About Moonbeam Astronomy Club

A local night-sky community built for curiosity, patience, and shared observation.

We are volunteers who meet to observe, compare notes, and learn the sky season by season. Some members bring years of experience, others arrive for their first clear look through a telescope—both belong here.

Our story in brief

Moonbeam began as a small sidewalk observing circle after a lunar eclipse and gradually grew into a steady local club. We still keep that same spirit: practical notes, careful looking, and shared learning under real skies.

We value evidence, patience, and kindness—so every meetup balances clear scientific explanation with a welcoming pace for newcomers.

What to expect as a member

  • Shared observation sessions with room to compare what you saw, what you missed, and how to look again.

  • Beginner-friendly guidance on binoculars, telescope basics, and practical sky navigation without jargon overload.

  • Seasonal learning focus so members can track constellations, lunar phases, and visible planets through the year.

  • A respectful, inclusive atmosphere where questions are welcome and every member can participate at their own pace.
